About Obscure Holiday Calendar
Obscure Holiday Calendar is a tiny team project built to surface delightful, quirky, and meaningful observances every day. The iOS and Android apps ship daily widgets, reminders, art, and short stories so people can celebrate something fun—whether that’s Pi Day, Hug Your Cat Day, or a niche craft tradition.
How we pick and maintain holidays
- Curated data: We maintain a structured holiday database with names, dates, descriptions, and fun facts. Each entry is reviewed for clarity and accuracy before it ships to the site and apps.
- Annual checks: We revalidate dates and descriptions every year to keep recurring observances current and remove outdated or duplicative listings.
- Sources: We reference public cultural calendars, organizational announcements, and community-submitted tips. When details are unclear, we note that the holiday is an informal observance.
- Corrections welcome: If you spot an error, let us know at sea.graves@mail.com.

Editorial approach
We keep entries concise and family-friendly. Where possible, we include origin stories, ways to celebrate, and light cultural context. Obscure Holiday Calendar is not a governmental or legal authority; most observances here are informal or promotional in nature.
Ads and monetization
The website uses Google AdSense, and the mobile apps may show ads through Google AdMob. We keep ad placements below the primary content and limit density to keep the experience readable. See the Privacy Policy for details on data and consent.
